final garment shoot at dawn

These are a handful of images that Claire Huish took for me of my final garments created for my recent draping project. We did this shoot at dawn, which was cold but stunning this early morning light helped to add freshness to the images?

experimenting a few examples...

this drape i have achieved wit hfabric not on the
bias which i think has worked well..

i really love the shape that draping has created

based on research i have done into classical sculpture
also taking inspiration from Vionnet by working with
fabric on the bias...

my first week is complete

AND IM GOING TO CARRY ON :) it is a wonderful internship very hard work and you have to pass a brick wall of exhaustion but everything is worth it the hard work the random tasks given and the stupid hours WOW ! i can hardly catch my breath... over all the week has gone well i have gained a few blisters and burns but sooo much knowledge which is priceless and the strange thing is i have learned more having a week of mcqueen than my whole 1st year of uni which is odd but fantastic because i am alot more able now :)
and the new spring/summer 2011 is going to be amazing!!! and very floral

INTERN update ...

OMGOSH!! ok im only two days in and realising just how intense being an intern at McQueen is... amazing though so far i have been cutting out leather flowers for most of the time in the press rooms because the womans wear department is very full i have gained alot of blisters and a numb finger which is odd but worth it !
the employees are lovely and the house are very late from 9am-1am at least, everyday so very full on but its due to the huge work load given to the interns in womenswear. also i have been sewing together tulle dresses which is tricky and fiddlie but they look amazing ! the other interns are really lovely which makes the expedience more fun... ill keep you updated

LONDON FASHION WEEK THE BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE!!

i have just recovered from the fantastic fashion week!! it was amazing i worked backstage from the 18th-23th rigging, de-rigging, dressing, styling, being a mad seamstress and generally doing wha ever the hell i was told but it was amazing and such a great insight into the backstage world of fashion....

Amazing moments and interesting things...
1. dresses for Ramon Gurillio, on/off presents, Bryce Aimes, Belle Sauvage, Falguni and shane Peacock, Roksanda Illincic.
2. set up and took down exhibition space
3. was a seamstress (mending seams hems sewing on beads and sewing in zips 10mins before the show) to Falguni and shane Peacock...
4. worked the J maskare party!
as well as chasing models around russel square, setting up so many manakins and being terrorised by PAM!!

PHOTOS ON THE WAY the best week of fashion i have ever incountered!!!!

first sketches

Just getting started on my project book and looking closer at clocks and there inner workings just scanned a few pages in from the begining of my sketchbook...

rework reuse!

With this project i have been inspired by random objects and am interested in using out of the ordinary textures and simple house hold things which is a little more interesting and fun ... this photoshoot from vogue really links with my ideas...
