we created out black and white paper project for our design day today it was so much fun and really interesting to work in paper it was hard but alot of fun and you can create some really dramatic work this is my dress i created from the final piece to the begginning stages! working in paper was a real challenge and pins are needed...

bodice construction

these are images of my bodice pattern being pinned and cut out of the calico fabric. we stitched and overlocked the garment together and then made the sleeves as well but will be attaching them next week and completing the bodice as well. i have to remember to check for the right side of the overlocking stich on the correct side!

darts workshop

22/10/09 pattern cutting darts!! we learned how to do loads of different types of darts alot of them i have come across in making garments in the past but there were a few new ones such as the shaped dart which is great because you can really do anything you want with it! good to go over all the basics like pivoting the dart.
